Top 5 Bay Area Spots To Explore

The Bay Area has so many places to explore, whether you are visiting or if you are local to the area. It has something to do for everyone, no matter what your interests are. Here are my top 5 places to explore in and around the Bay area.

1. San Francisco

San Fran is a must when you are visiting the Bay area. The Golden Gate Bridge is only one of the many things to do in the city. You can spend your day exploring the Golden Gate park which has many museums and gardens like the Japanese Tea Garden and the Conservatory of Flowers, shopping in Union Square or seeing the whole city from Twin Peaks. It also has so many amazing restaurants to try.

2. Napa Valley

If you love wine, Napa Valley is the place to visit. It has about 800 different wineries to choose from, whether it be a small family owned winery, or a huge winery like Castello di Amorosa winery. You can go walk through wineries or take The Wine Train, which passes through different wineries and also provides a luxurious lunch or dinner, depending on which one you choose.

3. San Jose

San Jose is the heart of Silicon Valley. You can check out the Great America amusement park, or relax with a day of retail therapy at Santana Row. Their Japan Town is one of the most authentic in the country and has amazing restaurants and museums like the Japanese Temple and Garden which you can check out.

4. Monterey

While Monterey isn't in the Bay Area, it is an hour away and is definitely worth it. It has beautiful beaches like Seaside Beach along the Monterey Bay, an amazing Aquarium, and is near the 17 mile Drive, which is 17 miles of different beaches like Pebble Beach. I would definitely recommend staying in Downtown Monterey as there are some great hotels and shops around to explore.

5. Tahoe

Tahoe is a definite is you are visiting. There is a lot to do in terms of water sports in the Summers or Skiing and Snowboarding during the winters. You can rent a cabin or stay at some of the amazing resorts in the area. Emerald Bay State Park is nearby to explore, which is home to Vikingsholm and Eagle Falls.

There is so much to explore while visiting or living in the Bay Area. If you know some great places, If you know any great places I may have missed, please comment below!
