Me and my sister decided to take a spontaneous trip to New York City this past September. We stayed at the Intercontinental Barclay for the duration of our stay and loved our experience there. It is near Grand Central Station, and close to everywhere we wanted to go! The staff is very nice, and while there was a slight issue with the food, the managers were really nice in fixing the problem.
One of the things I love about New York is how many different amazing restaurants there are that are so different. While I did eat a lot on this trip, I also forgot to take pictures as I was too excited to eat! But, I did find pictures of a lot of things I enjoyed while in NYC.
One of the most memorable nights I have had was Jazz night at La Lanterna di Vittorio in Greenwich Village. I chose the Pizza con Cipolla e Caprino and honestly, it was one of the best pizzas I have had. It was creamy and delicious, but not heavy. The jazz was also really nice, but not for if you are planning on talking a lot, as it can get really loud in the basement.
Another restaurant that was in my favorites was Merchants RiverHouse, in Battery Park. It's right near the Hudson River, so you can see the Statute of Liberty in the distance while you are having dinner. I had the Quartet of Mac-n-Cheese Cones, which was something I've never had before, and Avocado fries. Both dishes were amazingly good, and is a place I would definitely recommend!
I also got to visit the Ladurée Soho location for the first time, and it was insanely beautiful. Me had the Croque Monsieur and my sister had the Salmon Benedict. I actually got a side of hollandaise sauce on the side to eat with my dish, and it was honestly really good with it. The food was amazing but our server was a tad snooty, which was off-putting, but I tried not to let it bother me! It was everything I expected in terms of how pretty it would be and how good the dessert was! I also visited the Ladurée Madison Avenue location for a Rose Latte and snacks before I left for my flight. While the sandwiches were a bit dry, the Saint Honoré Rose Framboise and Rose Latte were amazing.
There are still so many restaurants in New York City that I would love to try, and I'm hoping in 2019 I have the chance to check some out! You can comment on any restaurants that you think are worth trying!
