Diamonds are a girl's best friend. They are strong and last a lifetime. It is always a lot of fun diamond shopping, so here are some of my best tips and tricks to purchasing your diamond ring!
The 4 Cs are important to consider when looking for diamonds. The 4 Cs are Cut, Color, Clarity and Carat. The value of the diamond is based off of these points. A round cut diamond is generally 15% more expensive than other shapes as it is the most classic. Personally, I love the round cut or the radiant cut diamond.
You can go with a diamond ring from a brand like Cartier, Tiffany & Co, and Harry Winston to name a few. Diamond rings from these brands are priced higher because you are also paying for the name brand associated with these diamonds. One of the pros for investing in a name brand diamond ring is that your diamonds do not depreciate in value.
You can also buy diamonds from private jewelers that specialize in diamonds. This would be more cost effective option and you also have the option to get a custom ring. One jeweler in particular that I have seen online is Happy Jewelers located in Los Angeles, California. They have Engagement Ring Wednesdays where they have one engagement ring at a special lowered pricing on their Instagram stories. They have some great deals on diamond rings, not just engagement rings!
Another tip I would always recommend is to buy diamonds in the form of solitaires as that will retain value, than buying smaller diamonds on a ring. Even though the carat weight may be the same, the solitaire has more value.

A diamond ring is an investment piece, and it should be treated that way. It is something that will be with you forever and you may even pass onto future generations as a family heirloom. What is your dream diamond ring? Leave it in the comments below!
