Ring shopping can be mind boggling and narrowing down to exactly what ring you want is difficult as there are many factors to consider. Whether you are choosing an engagement , a wedding ring, or just a ring for your everyday life, here are some tips to help you choose the perfect ring that would best fit your lifestyle.
1. Band
The first thing you need to consider is the band of the ring. You can choose a band with minimalist design, or get a more detailed, extravagant piece like an all diamond band.
2. Material
The next step is determining what material you would want for the ring. Some example material is gold, silver, rose gold and yellow gold. I personally wear a lot of yellow gold because it looks classy with any outfit and pairs well with my skin. Material is all about personal preference and what style and tone works best with you.
3. Cut
Cut of rock is another factor you should consider when choosing a ring. If you decide on getting a diamond ring, whether it be a band or a statement piece, you should contemplate what shape would best fit your lifestyle and also your style. There are so many shapes to choose from whether it be the classic round shape, cushion cut, or even pear shaped. The most classic shape for diamonds are the round shape, which is generally 10-20% more expensive than any other shape of diamond as it is the most popular.
4. Thickness
The thickness of the ring is important to think about if it is a ring you plan on layering with other rings. If you plan on layering it, it is better to go with a thinner band and build up. When looking at thickness, test some out and see what works the best on your fingers and what you like the best.
5. Size
I know it is hard to choose what size you would want to get for your ring. There are a few facts to consider when deciding the size. Do your fingers swell up during the summer or are you planning on layering them? It is better to go a half size up if your fingers swell up a bit during the summer or if you plan on layering as you don't want the ring to be too tight and not be able to wear it.
Some brands that I personally love for rings are Cartier. They have rings that are classics and will not go out of style. They are also great for layering. If you are looking for something with a lower budget, Pandora also has a bunch of different styles and different metals to choose from.
